VSS Demo Night Winners 2011

By Peter Thompson at 19 May 2011 at 07:08

Demo night at VSS this year was bigger and better than ever. Viperlib with the help of Art Shapiro visited the various exhibits and decided to award two prizes of 100 Euros each.
It was clear that the “People’s Choice” was Martin Lages and Maryam Viziri Pashkam’s fabulous use of a strobe light and an iPhone!
We also liked Rob Ennis and Qasim Zaidi’s simple demonstration of how to measure visual aftereffects.

Well done to both winners. We hope details of their demonstrationsd will be on Viperlib very soon.

Microsoft Research Grant to Viperlib

By Peter Thompson at 20 May 2008 at 15:34

Microsoft Research Microsoft Research have very generously donated £25,000 to support the future development of Viperlib. We are planning to revamp the site allowing users to submit material in a simpler and more direct way. This will reduce the administrative load of running Viperlib and will keep the site up to date.

Obviously we want more material for the site, more images, more Viper2go tutorials, etc. We will now be able to commission new material so it is important that we discover what our users would like to see on Viperlib that we do not currently have. Please send requests for demos, tutorials and images to us. If you have a great idea for the site and would like us to commission you to produce material, please get in touch.

We will also be looking at the possibility-and desirability-of extending the scope of Viperlib to incorporate auditory demonstrations. What are your views on this proposal? What about other senses too?

Viperlib is only as good as the people who give us the material, so please contribute to making the site even better.
